English Fiddle II by Will Allen, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Rowan Piggott, continues exploring traditional English tunes. The album features a mix of 17th- and 18th-century melodies sourced from regions like Gloucestershire, Lancashire, Somerset, and London, with highlights from John Playford’s Dancing Master and other collections.

The album showcases Allen’s technical brilliance and nuanced interpretations, blending intricate ornaments with lightness in slower tunes like Ilbury Hill and Jamaica and lively rhythms in reels and jigs. Tracks such as Bobbing Joe / The Maid Peeped Out of the Window and The Man in the Moon stand out for their charm and energy.

With its authentic yet refined sound, English Fiddle II appeals to both new listeners and seasoned folk enthusiasts, setting high expectations for the next chapter in the series.

Hi, here a friendly request, also on behalf of some other users of Israbox. Please put your uploaded albums in a separate folder. It gives us extra work to bundle all those single tracks in a separate folder with artist name - album title, especially since other uploaders have recently started using the same method. Thank you in advance.

@Ajax33: Agreed, the files need to unpack to their own folder. When the files unpack to the root, it is impossible to download and unpack multiple files simultaneously as certain files like cover.jpg or folder.jpg will either be overwritten or renamed, causing significant work for the downloader.

The ideal naming convention would be %artist% - %album name% (%year%) [%bit depth%-%sample rate%] %compression type% eg. Will Allen - English Fiddle II (2023) [24-44.1] FLAC
