The Yardbirds, a cornerstone of the British Blues Boom of the early 1960s, became a legendary band that launched the careers of renowned guitarists Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Formed in 1963 in London, the group evolved from blues roots to pioneer psychedelic rock and hard rock.

Initially focused on Chicago blues, they gained fame with hits like For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul. Clapton left due to their shift to a more "pop" sound, while Beck's experimental techniques brought innovation, leading to albums like Having a Rave Up and Yardbirds (renamed Roger the Engineer in the U.S.).

The addition of Jimmy Page saw the band adopt a heavier sound, influencing hard rock's development. After Jeff Beck's departure, Page led the group through its final phase, culminating in Little Games (1967) and the transition to Led Zeppelin following the departure of key members in 1968.

The Yardbirds were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and continued intermittently with new lineups. Jeff Beck, a prominent figure in the band’s legacy, passed away on January 10, 2023, at age 78.
