Orquestra Jazz de Setúbal - Em Cada Esquina Um Amigo (2024) Hi Res

This album is a tribute by OJS to José Afonso, an unmissable name in Portuguese music whose songs and life are intertwined with the struggle for Freedom and Democracy, and who forged a strong bond with Setúbal. On the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, we felt the urge to revisit his rich and extensive work by taking a different musical approach. On this album we recreate some of his songs in nine original arrangements, combining the characteristic sound of our orchestra with the soul of Portuguese music so present in Zeca Afonso. We dedicate this album to all those around the world who continue to use words and music as weapons in the fight for freedom and democracy.
