The Promise Of Spring is a reflection on grief for the loss of a family member, comprising of eight carefully crafted songs that demonstrate George's versatility as both a songwriter and a musician. This new album presents a big step-up in terms of sound from previous releases, with George's pure voice and tumbling acoustic guitar now accompanied by a full band whose understated but sweeping production lifts the songs to new heights, whilst always leaving enough room for George's sincerity to shine through.

The album features Ally McDougal on the drums, Will Looms and Jack Gillen on electric guitars, and Harry Fausing Smith on strings and string arrangements. The physical copies of the album are tied together by snippets of George's childhood family recordings, adding to the overall sense of nostalgia and reiterating the deeply personal and thoughtful nature of this collection of songs.
