On March 5, 2014, the first full-length album by the southern rockers from Gödöllő was finally released. The long-awaited album was released on its own label.
The first album by Asphalt Horsemen features twelve original compositions in English.
The Károlyi Lőrinczs were assisted by illustrious guests on the album: György Ferenczi (Rackajam, formerly Herfli Davidson), Kolos Hegyi (Magma Rise, Stereochrist) and Jesse (Hollywood Rose) all appear on the songs, and the vocals are supported by Kriszta Pocsai and Lilla Varga.
The album also features extra instruments, with Attila Szabó (Csík band) playing violin, Zoltán Ligeti playing the dorom, and Áron Koós Hutás playing the trumpet.
At first, the band started out as a fun-filled gig in Gödöllő in 2010. In addition to our existing bands, we got together every week for our own entertainment and played our favorite songs. It was also the case that everyone wrote down their favorite song on a piece of paper and drew lots to see whose song we would learn for the following week. So when we had a few covers of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Stone Cherry, or Pride & Glory, we decided to start writing our own songs.
Our own songs can also undeniably be classified in the category of our common love, “southern rock”, in which style only a few bands write songs in Hungary besides us.
Back in 2010, after the first two songs were finished, we recorded an EP, on which the songs “Grip in Hand” and “Runman” faithfully reflected the musical world that the band would continue to follow.
