The clue's in the name here, because this latest Z Records compilation is every bit as essential as the name suggests. As usual, there's a healthy mix of recent faves and new rubs of classic cuts; this time around those classics include 'One Kiss', 'Together Forever' and 'Can't Get High Without You', with the 25th Anniversary Instrumental of the latter genuinely breathing new life into a very familiar tune. But there's much to enjoy in the new material too, with highlights including the raw funk of Opolopo's 'Chocolate Spiders' and the classic garage stylings of Lee's take on The Trammps, while there's also room for a genuine early 90s garage gem in the form of Tribal Trix's 'Feel The Vibe'.
