Stone Thieves isn’t your typical London rock band. Sure, their roots may trace back to the bustling streets of the UK capital, but their hearts were hijacked by an irresistible Americana dream. Drawing inspiration from the raw honesty and romantic allure of roots music, Stone Thieves craft a sound that’s as authentic as it is electrifying.

With slide guitars weaving through heartbeat drums, and vocals soaked in the essence of a dimly lit barroom, Stone Thieves deliver denim-clad, rock ‘n’ roll anthems that speak to the soul. Their songs are a journey through the open road, the gritty streets of the inner city, and the realities of life’s tough choices.

Situated comfortably between the golden years of 1968 and 1974, Stone Thieves channel the spirit of a bygone era while injecting a modern edge. Their sound, fueled by cowboy chords and cranked up Vox amplifiers, pays homage to the classic rock sound of yesteryear while infusing a dash of 90s Brit-rock swagger.

Formed in the summer of 2012, the band blazed through any bar room and any stage that they could. Crossing all corners of the country and back again. With many Saturday nights spent honing their craft, and support slots with some of their idols such as Ocean Colour Scene, Proud Mary and Cast, the band started headline shows.

The badlands of Hertfordshire was always home, specifically The Horn in St. Albans. They hosted many sold out nights celebrating the release of new singles, new EPs, and not forgetting their annual Christmas parties which became something of folklore among their dedicated followers.

They released 2 EPs including ‘Brush Off The Rust‘ (Animal Farm Records) in 2014, and ‘The Church of The Medicine Man‘ (3MS Music) in 2019

The brand new album ‘Good At Bad Decisions‘ (Jagged Arrow Records) has been many years in the making, beginning back in 2021, when Aaron Gardner (Guitars/vocals), Tom Reynolds (Bass), Mike Pearson (Guitar) and Paul Archbold (Drums) headed into the studio to start work.

Global events conspired against the group, and after laying down the basic tracks, the world ground to a halt. Not to be deterred, Stone Thieves launched Shabby Road Studios in North London, where they completed the record. The band drafted in the help of Mike Ross on Hammond organ, and Jess Hayes on backing vocals.

The new album sees Stone Thieves grow into themselves. Glimmers of what was to come in previous releases now shines through clearly, fulfilling the promises of heartfelt and rootsy Rock ‘n’ Roll. Keeping true to their British DNA, and honing their Americana influences.
