This new album "Dream" marks 25 years since the release of "Libera" in 1999, and in the following years he had such achievements as international tours, performances for popes and presidents, the release of twelve more studio albums and the opportunity to see generations of singers pass through our little corner of South London.
The new album contains the usual "Libera signature" arrangements of classics by Beethoven, Dvorak, Gershwin and Liszt, along with original compositions by alumni Josh, Ben, Liam and Raul. There is an amazing version of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)". Classical fans will appreciate Libera's versions of "Going Home" from an anthem-like melody based on Dvorak's "New World Symphony" and choral "One Small Voice" using a mesmerizing melody widely known as "Beethoven's Pathetique". The band celebrates this 25th anniversary year with a tour of the Cathedral of Great Britain, a tour of Japan, a new album and concludes it with a Christmas concert in Westminster. Since this is the most famous anti-war song, the timing of the release of Libera's version of "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" could not have been more appropriate. It's a "Dream" of what's yet to come.
