Marina Ferrer - Imagination (2016)

Marina Ferrer, versatile singer with lyrical training, with a long career within the wide and exciting field of black music (former member of the soul and funk band “The Tribulettes” where she composed and arranged, lead vocalist of “El Molino Big Band ” directed by Bob Sands, and occasional vocalist of “Bob Sands Big Band”, in addition to leading his own jazz jam session in “La Quinta del Sordo”…) presents “Imagination”, his first work as a soloist.

A tribute to jazz in its purest form where Marina's direct, expressive and nuanced voice, splendidly flanked by an international quintet of true luxury (Bob Sands on Saxophone, Norman Hogue on Trombone, Jorge Vera on Piano, Francisco López on Double Bass and Daniel García on Drums) and perfectly supported by the exquisite arrangements of Miguel Ángel López Blázquez, prints his personal stamp on a meticulously selected bouquet of standards eternal, popularized, in their practical integrity, by legendary female voices (“What A Little Moonlight Can Do”, “Come Rain Or Come Shine”, “Angel Eyes”, “Comes Love”…), giving new breath to some compositions timeless, and creating a vibrant, seductive and high emotional voltage atmosphere.

Tradition, elegance, delicacy and a lot of swing are the hallmarks of an album, “Imagination”, and a performer, composer and arranger, Marina Ferrern, of enormous talent and infinite possibilities…

“Imagination” is Marina Ferrer's first solo album. Recorded in July 2016 and released in December 2016 by Youkali Music. It was presented at the Sala Clamores in Madrid on January 15.
