More enjoyable than the wonderful Vol. 1, this second set of Whispers slow jams features their earlier career-defining sounds, such as "Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong" (their first national R&B hit and "I Only Meant to Wet My Feet" -- a song on the favorite list of every old school fan, it prompted Midwest and Eastern region tours where the Whispers amazed crowds expecting a laid-back ballad singing group, but got five fireballs running on stage turning somersaults, carrying each other, forming human pyramids, and stepping their butts off. But ballads were their forte and this CD will bring back fond memories. It contains the long version of "Olivia (Lost and Turned Out)," "Somebody Loves You," "Just Gets Better With Time," and other evergreens revered by early connoisseurs.
