The announcer Fhidias Danilo Escalona, with his radio program "Llegó la Hora de la Salsa, el Sabor y el Bembé", together with Federico Betancourt, who in June 1966 titled his first LP "Llegó la Salsa", without imagining that this term would group tropical rhythms and would be the "Brand of Latin Music" worldwide. In the 60s and with the support of Roberto Monserrat, he organized "Federico y su Combo Latino", a group with which he immortalized songs such as Pao Pao, Maína and Cocolía, many of his hits are by Mon Rivera and Joe Cotto, the arrangements are in charge of Mr. Eduvigis Carrillo, famous trumpet player. Federico imposed in the country the use of trombones as an outstanding instrument. The most outstanding Venezuelan vocalists and musicians of the time paraded through the orchestra: Carlín Rodríguez, Dimas Pedroza, Enrique "Culebra" Iriarte (pianist), César Monge, Teofilo Zamty and José "Rojita" Rojas (trombonists), Rafael Prado (bassist), César Pinto, José Acosta and Carmelo Álvarez (trumpets), Nené Pacheco, Roberto Monserrat and "Pedrito" Medina (percussionists), Edgar Dolor, "El Bobby", Rogelia "Canelita" Medina, José "Joe" Ruiz, Jhonny Ramos, Manny Bolaños, Memo Morales, "Chino" Suárez, Harlem, Jorge Mendoza, Orlando Castillo "Watussi", Pepe Acosta, Manuel More, Wladimir Lozano and the incomparable "Calaven". Venezuela represented a great economic market for international music organizations, Caracas and La Guaira stood out as salsa cities, stages of great shows. Federico had the honor of sharing the stage with La Sonora Matancera, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Rodriguez, Perez Prado, Cortijo y su Combo, Pupi y su Charanga, Ricardo Ray, Tito Puente, Mario Ortiz, Ray Barreto; in addition, he accompanied musically singers such as: Celia Cruz, Mon Rivera, La Lupe, Justo Betancourt and Cheo Feliciano. Years later, the powerful label "Fania", of Jerry Masucci, marketed the word "Salsa" with the results known today.
