An exciting piano session by women who truly love ramen. Akiko Yano and Hiromi Uehara's first collaborative album in five years!
Even now, 40 years after her debut, Akiko Yano continues to have an overwhelming presence with her genre-defying activities. And Hiromi Uehara, whose latest album "SPARK" reached number one on the US jazz charts. Although they are in different genres, both are based in New York and continue to be active worldwide with the piano, and this is a collaborative album by the two.
As part of Yano's 40th anniversary project, this album contains a recording live performance held at Bunkamura Orchard Hall on September 15, 2016. This is the first collaborative album by the two in five years since "Get Together -LIVE IN TOKYO-" released in November 2011.
As with the previous album, this time too, in a "one-night-only" situation, in front of an audience of 2,000 people, it is a heated piano session where they clash with each other's inspirations. The album contains all eight songs that were performed on the day of the live show. In addition to Akiko Yano's popular songs such as "Tokyo wa Yoru no 7ji", "Tobite Ikuyo" and "Ramen Tabetai", it also includes "Dreamer", an original by Hiromi Uehara with newly written lyrics by Yano, "Koino Uta", a new song written and composed by Hiromi Uehara, and a medley of cover songs that cross genres and eras in every direction, from jazz standards and children's songs to R&B and Showa era pop songs.
