The long-awaited follow-up LP from Portland indie trailblazers, Aan – their first full-length since 2019's 'Losing My Shadow'!
Living up to its name in more ways than even initially imaginable, 'Over The Mountain' is a momentous exploration of the human spirit pushing forward against all odds – both creatively as artists, and more outwardly in the persevering will to live on, even when the entire world around us seems to be falling apart.
Written and recorded in the aftermath of 2020's world-stopping quarantine and the infernal West Coast wildfires of 2021, as well as multiple personal tragedies for the band – the album is rightfully riddled with a whirlwind of reactions to a most turbulent time, not only in their own lives but the world at large.
Channeling that near-apocalyptic hellfire of a backdrop, the band navigates through a myriad of new sounds on 'OTM' – with drum machines, sunshine pop, and some samba flourishes all in the mix – while still very much delivering the goods that any Aan fan has come to know them for, with to-die-for melodies, energetic shredders and face-melting guitar solos aplenty.
Already a triumph in itself just to simply be completed at all, it is truly an honor to now present this true opus, all five-years-in-the-making of it, to you all.
