Produced by Dodicilune, distributed in Italy and abroad by IRD and in the main online stores by BELIEVE DIGITAL, Tuesday 26 November sees the release of ‘Quella stanza segreta (Omaggio a Edda Dell’Orso) – feat. Nguyên Lê’, the new CD by Roman bassist and composer Massimiliano Cignitti, who deepens his interest in the music of Cinema (after the previous albums “Buio in sala” under his own name and “La Regola del Gioco” with the group Cinedelik, respectively released in 2022 and 2024, also for Dodicilune).
This time, the Roman artist pays homage to the extraordinary singer Edda Dell’Orso, considered ‘the voice of Morricone’ for having sung some of the most famous themes of Italian soundtracks of the last 40 years, and who also became famous for having worked with all the greatest masters of music for images in the history of Italian cinema.
The album contains original arrangements of 10 famous songs signed by Ennio Morricone and Piero Piccioni linked to as many famous film productions and an original song signed by Cignitti himself, performed by an extraordinary band with Sara Della Porta, Clara Simonoviez, Lorena Falbo, Matteo Impilloni, Juan Carlos Albelo, Mieko Myazaki, Giancarlo Ciminelli, Marco Guidolotti, Thierry Valentini, Carlo Rosati, Fabio Servilio, Mauro Scardini, Alessandro Di Nunzio, Marco Rovinelli, and with the extraordinary participation of the famous French-Vietnamese guitarist Nguyên Lê.
In addition, the disc can boast an excellent audio quality thanks to the collaboration with Swiss-Italian sound engineer Marc Urselli working between London and New York (7 nominations and 3 Grammy Award wins) who mixed the entire record project.
