A collection of singles by Ottawan and other similar projects such as Pam N' Pat and Bisquit. Ottawan is a French disco duo that became popular in the early 1980s. During the first three years of its existence, the group sold about 17 million records, surpassing even such recognized masters of the style as Boney M and Amanda Lear. The authors of all of Ottawan's hits were producers Daniel Vangar and Jean Kluger. Their most famous compositions are "D.I.S.C.O." and "Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)". The beginning of Ottawan's stellar career can be considered to be 1979, when a French-language song called "D.I.S.C.O." was recorded. Guadeloupe native Jean-Baptiste Patrick and dancer Anette were invited to record the song. In 1980, the composition becomes the most popular in France, and the English version conquers one European country after another. In April 1980, "D.I.S.C.O." enters the German charts and stays there for 34 weeks, becoming one of the best-selling singles in Germany. That same year, Ottawan records four singles, one of which, "Shalala Song", was a remake of the popular Spanish-language composition "Un Rayo De Sol". The single "Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)", released in the spring of the following year, achieved simply incredible popularity in Europe. Since April 1981, "Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)" remains in the charts for 42 weeks and takes 1st place in sales for 1981 in Germany. While other French disco artists were not doing so well... In total, Ottawan managed to spend 45 weeks with 4 singles in the UK charts and 126 weeks with 5 singles in the German charts. In France and Belgium, the group was constantly in the charts for three years. Despite the fact that Ottawan has not released any new singles since 1983, the group's performances have never stopped. For more than three decades, the duo has been invited to different countries, and all this time, the constant lead vocalist Pat has successfully performed the songs that are so beloved by the whole world.
Bisquit is a Belgian disco project that emerged in the early 80s and gained popularity thanks to such hits as "Roller Boogie" and "Zoo Zoo". This project was produced by Raymond Felix. He also co-wrote with R. Sigo both Bisquit compositions - "Roller Boogie" and "Zoo Zoo", which were released as singles in 1980 and 1981 respectively. It is worth noting that the song "Zoo Zoo" gained the greatest popularity in the USSR, and then in the post-Soviet space, the instrumental version of which can be heard as background music in the TV series "Beware, Modern!" Due to its similarity in sound, many publishers of pirated collections mistakenly attributed this composition to the groups Ottawan and Pam n ' Pat. In addition to the Bisquit project, Raymond Felix was also involved in producing the female duet Sha-Na, as well as other little-known performers such as Energy, Splendid, Imago, Tiamo, etc. Inspired by the success of Ottawan, the lead singer of the group Jean Patrick founded his own group (side project) "Pam 'n Pat" in late 1981, which in 1982 released a fairly well-known composition "To Be Superman", reminiscent of Ottawan in sound, as well as the single "It's All Music". "To Be Superman" is included in the popular compilation "Hit Explosion '82", but it is not possible to promote it further. Patrick takes a new vocalist named Tamara and now performs with her. The remaining musicians, together with Anetta, formed the group "Bisquit", and released in the same 1982 the compositions "Zoo Zoo" and "Roller Boogie". Years later, in 2002, Patrick released a collection of the best songs with remixes of old hits under the name Ottman Jones. On the wave of the second popularity of disco stars of the 70-80s, he again begins touring with old hits of 1979-1982 together with his cousin Carolina, who now plays the role of Anette and Tamara. For almost 30 years, Ottavan's hits have remained in demand and loved, as the unique disco music continues to be loved!
