"The Moles" is an exclusive Record Store Day 2014 release, featuring a comprehensive collection of the Australian underground band’s recordings. Led by Richard Davies, the band evolved from garage and psych roots to develop a unique style. The collection includes their two full albums, Untune The Sky and Instinct, alongside other tracks.
Formed in Sydney in the late 80s, The Moles were inspired by bands like The Fall and The Go-Betweens. After limited success in Sydney, they moved to New York and later London, recording an EP and a Peel Session. Despite creative breakthroughs, the group disbanded in 1994 due to homesickness. Davies, however, continued their work, releasing Instinct with a new lineup, blending punk roots with intricate arrangements.
