This compilation of the greatest sacred works for bass and organ finds its ideal interpreters in the singer Günther Groissböck and Matthias Giesen on the Bruckner organ in St. Florian. The spectrum ranges from Johann Sebastian Bach to Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Anton Bruckner and Johannes Brahms and ends with the end of the oratorio "The Book with Seven Seals" by Franz Schmidt. Here two of the most powerful sound bodies meet, not in conflict, but complementing each other to create a sound experience of a special class. Three centuries come to life in the great Basilica of St. Florian and develop their radiance in the unique acoustics of this sublime church. Clemens Horak, Manuel Huber and Wolfgang Vladar, all three members of the Vienna Philharmonic, complement the congenial duo Groissböck / Giesen as instrumentalists.
