SHOLTO returns with a new album, “Letting Go of Forever”, to be released on DeepMatter Records / Funk Night Records later this year. Taking inspiration from Mozart and David Axelrod, the album's first track “For The Love Of Stripes” combines touching strings and choral orchestration with swirling flutes and percussion to create a nostalgic instrumental with moody notes. SHOLTO applied the concept of bands to his compositional style, inspired by their cohesive and cautionary role. The second composition “Ligurian Storm” reflects a mystical combination of harp, strings, vibraphone and synthesizers, embodying a growing storm engulfing a beautiful landscape. SHOLTO's musical style falls somewhere between Cinematic Orchestra and Surprise Chef, and his music expresses a warm spectrum of colors, analog instrumental grooves and euphoric sentimentality. Born in London, SHOLTO began his music career in 2013 and has worked with producers such as Nick Waterhouse and Inflo. His writing style is inspired by soundtrack composers from the 1950s and 1970s, as well as contemporary artists such as Robohands and The Ironsides. His 2023 album, The Changing Tides Of Dreams, introduced his world of psychedelic, euphoric arrangements combining elements of film, classical music, jazz and experimental arranging techniques.
