After two albums on their excellent label MaAuLa Records and numerous sizzling concerts, The Loire Valley Calypsos are back with a third album featuring new tracks and a fresh show. Like Voyou, Flavien Berger, or Bonbon Vodou, The Loire Valley Calypsos are part of a generation unafraid to blend anachronistic and opposite influences. Their globetrotting pop style draws from psychedelia, Caribbean rhythms, disco, or French chanson to create a rich and vibrant sound. This marks the band’s latest bold move, fully embracing the French language. But, like Elli Medeiros or Manu Chao before them, they know how to find the right words to collectively exorcise our disillusions, whether through lysergic forró, cosmic biguine, otherworldly maloya, or wild afro-funk. Refining their craft on the roads of France, the five dandies of The Loire Valley Calypsos have proven time and again that they fear no one when it comes to sweeping dancers into a collective celebration.
