"Liquid" is a reissue of the fifth studio album of the electronic project Recoil, released in 2000. The author of the project, Alan Wilder, said in an interview that the album was created under the impression of a plane crash, which he accidentally witnessed - the plane crashed a few meters from Wilder's car, he and his wife miraculously managed to escape. The theme of the disaster was most vividly manifested in the composition "Black Box", the first on the album, in which the author achieves a strong effect by replacing the vocals with reading the text to electronic sound. In the year of release, the record received the Grand Prix of the French Charles Cros Academy.
The limited edition is available on double black vinyl.
Recoil is an electronic music project formed in 1986 by English musician, Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder. The project was conceived when Wilder was still in the band and wanted to create less commercial and pop-oriented music. Recoil's first mini album "1+2" consisted of experimental demo recordings that Weider made in parallel with compositions for Depeche Mode. In 1991, Recoil released their second album "Bloodline", for which Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb), Moby, Toni Halliday and others were invited to record. The release of this record was a bid for a future solo career. On the next album "Unsound Methods" (1997), Alan Wilder used his author's technique, in which singing replaces reading the text to an electronic sound. According to listeners, expressed in the reviews of "Unsound Methods", the music has become more unpredictable Recoil - "starting to listen to a track, you never know how it will end." Nevertheless, Alan Wilder's Recoil has gained a reputation as one of the most unusual electronic projects of recent years.
