The quartet Bribes 4 returns with The Sky Is Crying, an innovative project exploring the roots of the blues through ultra-modern improvisations inspired by legends like Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, and Billie Holiday. Originally a duo with Geoffroy Gesser (saxophone) and Romain Clerc-Renaud (keyboards), the group evolved into a quartet with drummer Yann Joussein and now collaborates with vocalist Linda Oláh. Revisiting 1920s blues archives, they blend free jazz, post-rock, and blues in a sound rich in poetic and political resonance, drawing inspiration from Angela Davis's Blues Legacies and Black Feminism.
