Yulia Musayelyan Tango Project - Oblivion (2021)

Rich modern tango tunes are delivered by Yulia Musayelyan on flute as she’s teamed with Maxim Lubarsky/p, Fernando Huergo/b and Mark Walker/dr on material dominated by the pens of Piazzolla and Pedro Laurenz. She uses her bass flute to rich effect with Huergo on the tender “Nada” and even brings her lovely voice into play on the festive “Como Dos Extranos.” Most of the tunes are peppy and urge you to grab a partner to dance, such as the peppy “Fuga y Misterio” and title track, with the team sauntering across the floor on “Si Llega a Ser Tucumana” and the pulsating puffs of “Libertango”.
