Following the releases of Salve Reginas, Pastorellas, the C minor Requiem, masses, and motets, audite now presents the fourth part of the exploration into the work of Haydn's predecessor. The recording, a multi-faceted compendium of the fugue, explores the musical connections between Antonio Caldara and his student Gregor Joseph Werner. It culminates in the G minor Requiem, a retrospective by the composer before his death. Werner used madrigals by Caldara and thus reflects his own artistic career as well as the influence of his teacher, the Venetian vice Kapellmeister Antonio Caldara.
