The Crow's Nest Meditations is a music album born from the friendship and experimentation of Luther Dickinson and David Katznelson, two veterans of the American music scene. For five years, in a small stilt-supported room among the hills of San Anselmo, they recorded melancholic and experimental tracks with Luther’s guitar, drones, and sounds that connect humanity with nature. Inspired by the music of William Basinski, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and The Deep Listening Band, these sessions marked the beginning of Gravel Springs — an ambient project exploring cosmic sounds and connection to the earth. The Crow’s Nest Meditations is a wild journey embodying the spirit of friendship, musical heritage, and generational connection, where science and chance come together, infused with a deep sense of space and time.
