With her debut album ‘One Way Trip to Gaia’, Alberta Balsam takes a bold leap into uncharted territory, delivering a futuristic fairytale that marks a significant evolution from her previous work. Building on the electro and IDM foundations of her earlier releases on Clone and Dekmantel, the album transforms into a sci-fi odyssey filled with bass-driven beats, breakbeat rhythms, and dub-infused atmospheres. Her ability to merge pop sensibility with otherworldly sound design shines throughout, never losing that club-ready energy.

One Way Trip to Gaia represents the culmination of years of experimentation. It builds on the ethereal, electro-based EP Higher Dreams released on Dekmantel Records and the dance floor-ready IDM of 15 Bilion Elektrovolt on Clone Records, where the first hints of vocal experimentation and storytelling already began to surface.

In this work, her most vocal album to date, the Rotterdam-based artist crafts an alternative, utopian world as a refuge from our reality, blending pop influences with dub, breakbeat, bass, synthpop, and futuristic techno. Released on her own, newly initiated label, Terra Atomika, the album allows Alberta Balsam to fully explore her creative vision without constraints.
