FANTASTIC NEW ALBUM BY SON OF MAN.
FEATURING FORMER MAN MEMBERS GEORGE JONES AND BOB RICHARDS.
RADIO COVERAGE, REVIEWS IN NATIONAL PRESS; CLASSIC ROCK, UNCUT, MOJO, RECORD COLLECTOR AND PROG MAGAZINES PLUS ALL SPECIALIST PRESS AND COVERAGE ON RELEVANT WEBSITES AND FANZINES.
The album has at its heart, an eclectic collection of songs and styles but unmistakably anchored in the band’s heritage. From fast-paced, driving classic rock to dreamier, more progressive pieces, the album has something for all moods. Less of a concept album this time out but the focus is still on quality and the album sees writing contributions from all band members.
‘Gaslight’ sees a change in personnel for the band. The new line-up has George Jones now covering all guitars whilst a return for Ray Jones to bass duties follows a six- year hiatus as he is reunited with Richie Galloni (vocals), Bob Richards (drums) and Marco James (keyboards).
This is the third album from the Son Of Man stable and follows its previously well received predecessors ‘Son Of Man’ and ‘State Of Dystopia’. Conspiracy theorists should note that the fact that the latter was released at the start of the Covid pandemic was a complete coincidence and the album had gone to print long before the virus’s cross continental march (although one can hear “they would say that, wouldn’t they”). However you take your music, the band would encourage you to crank up the volume, sit back, relax and let ‘Gaslight’ take you on a sonic voyage across your emotions.
What a great album!
The musical style of this collection harkens back to days long gone; late seventies most definitely..
Some great vocals throughout on what is such an accessible, dare I say it, rock classic or should be.
Really like this album and if you like that golden vibe of yesteryear this is an ideal acquisition for your collection.
Love the rocky tracks especially my standout ‘103’, but wow hey can handle the slower tempo stuff like ‘Can’t Stop Loving You’ and ‘There Will Come A Day’.
