The Vanishing Point album is a distinctive musical odyssey created by Liesel (Eliza Begg) that uses fables about our future to tell the story of our present. This album contains allegorical stories that create a dystopian collection of stories about living in the shadow of a coming catastrophe. Liesel develops her sonic instrumentation and turns pop music into a platform for operatic storytelling. Each song reflects the common emotional and psychological experience of moving towards an anxious future. It combines ancient musical traditions with futuristic sounds to present a possible future that tracks our current existence. The album's compositions describe the restructuring of the simulation of our apparent existence, from “Time & Money,” which tells the story of an engineer who over-engineers a simulation of life, to “The Vanishing Point,” which turns apocalyptic ecstasy into a battered lullaby. The Vanishing Point album creates a holistic picture of life on the brink of the world's end. Carla Rossi's photographs complement this world, using the aesthetic techniques of the Renaissance and the Middle Ages, but placing them in the digital space, depicting images from an imaginary future.
