Ebony Buckle - Hearts Get Started (2024)

Ebony Buckle has unleashed her new album ‘Hearts Get Started’ in full.

The Australian-born artist travelled halfway around the world in pursuit of her dreams, settling in London a few years back. Her bold 2021 album ‘Disco Lasers’ made a mark on its release, with Ebony’s broad, ambitious songwriting pushing back the barriers.

Setting her heart on crafting boundary-breaking pop music, Ebony Buckle has worked on a follow-up for three years. Inspired by incredible femme aesthetes such as Kate Bush or Regina Spektor, she’s also worth comparing to Florence & The Machine.

The results move from some of her first efforts in songwriting, to sketches that are only weeks old. A true work of autobiography, the songs come to represent pieces of a puzzle in her life.

“This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers – it’s all the music that got me to that point.”
