Anna Buchegger's voice delights in classical, jazz and pop. Known from Starmania 2021, she also impresses in Salzburg and with cover versions. Her new album "Windschatten" (release date: October 4, 2024) mixes Alpine folklore with modern pop, free of political stuffiness, and creates a new musical folk culture.

Mystical sounds, soft electronic beats and her distinctive vocals in the Salzburg dialect. Comprised of 12 chapters, the song chronicles her growing up and maturing in Innergebirg, where she was born and raised, and the lyrics are filled with the different philosophies of life in the countryside and in the city. It is filled with a desire to refute common stereotypes, to break down prejudices, remove invisible borders and proclaim cultural and human oneness. The thought-provoking opener "Fish" tackles the overarching theme of caregiving from a family perspective, tackling it from an unusual angle. Where is the gratitude and recognition for the aunts, cousins and grandmothers who carry the burden? And is it okay to secretly wish for death, since the spirit has long since emerged from the fragile human shell of the dying?

Buchegg tackles existential questions and topical issues, culling them from her own observations and experiences, in an attempt to make them more accessible to the general public. "Kim vorbei" sees him yodelling over psychedelic vibes, "Sches Lem" reaches a final crescendo with punk charm, while the title track "Windschatten" sees a liturgical sound that forms a gentle electronic cloak over the body of the song: "I want to bless your weak face, I want to be in your slipstream". The Salzburg native consciously addresses the unpleasant side of relationships: "In life, we always try to show the good side of ourselves, but the exciting story is somewhere else. It's in the ugly side that everyone tries to hide as much as possible. It takes a lot of effort to expose your ugly side and acknowledge it".
