Rusty and Doug were brothers Rusty and Doug Kershaw, who were a country music and rockabilly duo from Louisiana, whose roots in the bayou country meant that their music always had some distinct Cajun influences. Those influences were brought to the fore by working with the renowned songwriter and producer who specialised in that style of music J.D. Miller - his studio in Crowley, Louisiana, was the source of dozens of Cajun and swamp blues recordings. This 46-track 2-CD set comprises early recordings for J.D. Miller's Feature label, plus others from those early days released on albums on the Flyright and Crown labels, along with all their A & B sides on the Hickory label from this era. It features all five of their career hits in the US country charts on the Hickey label - So Lovely Baby, Love Me To Pieces, Hey Sheriff, Diggy Liggy Lo and the Top 10 entry Louisiana Man, which also flirted with the pop charts. It include recordings with their regular singer and guitarist associate Wiley Barkdull, and along with many songs written by them with J.D. Miller, includes songs by the great country writers, Felice & Boudleaux Bryant, Melvin Endsley, Hank Williams, Don Gibson, Roy Acuff and more. It's an entertaining showcase for their unique brand of music that blends country, Cajun and rockabilly.
