"The Moon Sets Twice" is a collection of original music that I’ve composed and curated over the past two years. Unlike my first album, "Coralland," this one isn’t bound by a single concept. Instead, each song stands on its own, telling unique stories inspired by various portraits and situations, blending elements of reality with fiction. Musically, we aimed to delve into heavier beats and reveal a more dynamic, energetic side of Ayé!
This album also marks the first time that some of the songs were co-written with Nicolas Bianco. Often, Nico would present me with a beat and some harmonies, and I would weave the melody and lyrics around them. Other times, we’d start from scratch, spending hours together in the studio to find the right sound.
The ten tracks were recorded in the Diaconis Church in Bern, Switzerland, a venue where the Bern Symphony Orchestra rehearses. I sought a space with nice acoustics to create the perfect environment for the harp and double bass. Additionally, I wanted a flexible setting where we could freely adjust the microphone placements and have access to a nearby park—a serene spot to work and recharge during breaks."
