Bento Box Trio releases their second album Somehow I Lost My Way 29th of September with Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen as guest artists! The album's theme revolves around the feeling of losing direction or meaning. The songs deal with the fact that upheavals in life can cause you to suddenly find yourself in a place you don't recognize - Somehow I Lost My Way. Nevertheless, the music is close and present - exploratory in each other's musicality.

On the new album, Bento Box Trio collaborates with two renowned musicians on the Norwegian and international jazz scene, Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen. The acoustic trio is otherwise represented by three very exciting names from the new Nordic jazz generation. Grounded in improvisation, the music draws impulses from classical traditional and contemporary music, and the original compositions describe everything from the fragile and melancholic to the intense and insistent.

"With the second album, we wanted to expand the trio format that we explored in the debut "Boxed". Both Sissel and Mats are musicians that we have been inspired by for a long time, and we got really excited when they agreed to join us on some of the songs on the album. Both of them have very strong musical voices which we feel fit into our trio expression in different ways. Me (Tuva) and Benjamín have also tried to write tunes that we feel suit them and that bring out their many qualities. This record contains tunes in a relatively large range in terms of expression, from the atmospheric and melodic title track "Somehow I Lost My Way" to the more intense and free-jazz-inspired song "Sveðjan Revisited".”

“The title of the album is taken from the lyrics of a song called "Dream / Lost Song" by Azimuth, a trio consisting of John Taylor, Norma Winstone and Kenny Wheeler. I heard the record Azimuth 85' (ECM 1985) a couple of years ago, and this particular song made an impression and stayed with me. During the period when me and Benjamín wrote the songs for this album, we both shared many thoughts and concerns about the major crossroads in life, and I felt that the lyrics resonated with this."
