In the year of the 115th anniversary of the birth of Dmitri Shostakovich, Dmitry Liss and the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra present their perspective of his Symphony No. 15 to the composer's numerous admirers worldwide. "Dmitri Shostakovich is one of my favorite composers, a role model of how to preserve honor and dignity even in some most unthinkable situation, and practically on one’s own stand against the horrendous machinery of state. This certainly led to losses in his life, to say the least, but, nonetheless, I think, he won. And this symphony is also among my favorites: the Fifteenth, Shostakovich's last symphony, in which he sums up his life, bids farewell to it. A very personal, and perhaps, a very grim symphony, but causing me to feel wonder, purification and admiration". (Dmitry Liss)
