The second studio album from Sharp Class. Largely recorded in Nottingham at Electric Bear Studios, Welcome To The Matinee Show (Of The End Of The World) is their latest self-produced offering which includes dynamic appearances from Drew Stansall (The Specials) Linda Pardee, Tim Gillis & Bruce Caporal (The Chelsea Curve, USA), Gary Knight and Alex Townsend. The album was mixed by guitarist and frontman Oli Orton, and is the bands 9th collaboration with mastering engineer JP Braddock (Simple Minds, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cramps).
“Welcome To The Matinee Show (Of The End Of The World)” is one hell of a title track. Not only is it a provocative title, but it sets up the mood and emotion for the rest of the album.” shares Oli Orton. “It started out with just the title, and that was enough to invite the inspiration in, allowing me
to write about the world we live in feeling like one big a dramatised show. I think that’s something we all have felt over the past few years.”
