The band, which consists of members from a number of employed bands in Bergen ( Norway) , was started as an experiment to give vent to passion for music that can be said to spring from the tradition of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, the Rolling Stones, and Joni Mitchell. But also newer artists in the genre such as Colter Wall, Kacy & Clayton and Julianna Riolino inspire the quintet.

If we rewind time to 2012 the year of the previous release, the music world underwent a paradigm shift. Artists without fame have gone from getting paid for recording, to almost paying to have it played on streaming services. In addition, this means that the band's existence has largely revolved around tactical promotion on social media. This has come at the expense of the music, so the band has contracted an aversion to all this. Therefore, since 2012 GPP has only written songs and played concerts, thus investing more in the music's recognition rather than promoting themselves.

The band consists of seasoned musicians from some of Bergen’s finest bands. They started as an experiment to follow their passion for music that that springs from the tradition of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, the Rolling Stones and Joni Mitchell – But also newer artists in the genre such inspire the quintet, such as Colter Wall, Julianna Riolino, Kacy & Clayton and more.

Since the band has now been around for quite a few years, this process led has them from "Kupønk" and Indie Country to today's expression in the direction of classic Americana.
