Raised in Cincinnati (OH), and one of Motown’s main acts of the ‘60s, The Isley Brothers (Ronald, Rudolph and O’ Kelly) started singing before they were old enough to go to school. The group’s sound was flexible and passionate. They wrote and recorded timeless and tasteful grooves that continue to stand the test of time. Their classic soul, high-spirited R&B and joyful rock & roll tracks shocked the world and later influenced bands like The Rolling Stones and The O’ Jays. Their songs were covered by countless artists, ranging from The Beatles to Mae West to Devo. It is also worth noting that Jimi Hendrix made his first recordings with the Isleys. This very special collector’s edition includes The Isley Brothers’ famous and full-length debut album on the RCA-Victor label, Shout! (1959). The album’s superlative title track sparked the band’s success and became a favorite with garage bands and R&B fanatics. In addition we he have included 8 bonus tracks from the same period. All 19 of these tracks are great and contain some of the best dancin’ R&B and rock & roll of the era. A must-have album for any music fan.

“Shout’ is more than a song title now; it’s an emblem for rock’n’roll itself. In your face. Loud. Unsubtle. On the edge of losing it.” - Colin Scott
“Here the group sound as though they could do no wrong, no matter what they tried. Spinning through gospel-drenched call-and-response tunes, twist-craze dance records…" Steve Huey
