London-based singer-songwriter and producer Gareth Donkin presents Welcome Home (Deluxe), an expanded digital tracklist marking one year since the release of his breakthrough debut LP on drink sum wtr. The deluxe treatment welcomes remixes by UK dance/jazz producer Crackazat and Baltimore beatmaker J.Robb and invites listeners back to the dazzling, coming-of-age collection which simmered throughout the year and saw Donkin reach new fans worldwide, including Billboard and BBC Radio 6, and debut in the US at SXSW festival among other firsts.

The 24-year-old's music draws from soul, funk, pop, yacht rock, hip-hop, jazz, and bossa nova, channeling everything from Michael Jackson and Bill Evans to George Benson and Jamiroquai. Across it all runs Donkin's sense of melody and his unique falsetto, sincere and smiling, amplified here as the connective thread between two adventurous new remixes.

Crackazat brings “Tell Me Something” to the dancefloor. In its original form, a tender, hypnotic ballad, “Tell Me Something” tugs at the heart with string-backed, wide-eyed lyricism. Crackazat’s remix speeds up the sentiment, spinning the hook into an anthem with classic house hallmarks: skyward organ riffs, hi-hats, horns, and more.

J.Robb, one-half of Donkin’s drink sum wtr labelmates JEMS!, revisits the Welcome Home standout, “Whenever.” The single tipped its cap to Quincy Jones, reveling in the possibility of a blossoming romance, and J.Robb’s take dials that up with a subtle touch. Known for R&B bangers, one of Baltimore’s finest provides a timeless, shuffling backdrop for Donkin’s sweet lines of reassurance.
