The new work for the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra is inspired by the change of seasons and consists of four movements, which, in addition to Claus Waidtløw himself, presents three soloists from the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. About the work, Claus Waidtløw says:
“Many are inspired by nature and composers from the classical world have written great works around the seasons, but within the rhythmic world, as far as I know, not many have taken up this theme in a larger orchestral context. I'm looking forward to it".
In recent years, Waidtløw has established itself as one of the country's leading composers in rhythmic music and in 2015 received a Danish Music Award in the category “Danish Jazz Composer of the Year”. In 2016, he released in collaboration with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra the critically acclaimed album Apples for Adam and has since written music for several European orchestras.
