Dominik Schürmann trio - Forever (2024) [Hi-Res]

For this project, Schürmann brought together two musicians who not only harmonize wonderfully with his compositions, but also add artistic value to this set. According to Schürmann, the southern German pianist Tilman Günther is “... the ideal pianist. His sensitive playing and fine touch as well as his harmonic understanding give the compositions exactly the right timbre that I was looking for. He has a strong sense of tradition and has developed his own personal sound and style.” The trio line-up is completed by Basel-based drummer Samuel Dühsler. Schürmann continues: “... Samuel knows like no other how to listen to his fellow musicians and react to their playing with skill and sensitivity. He's a drummer with an open understanding for various styles and he can place himself so unselfishly at the service of the band.” This restraint on the part of Schürmann's fellow musicians makes it possible to create music that impresses with its harmonic and rhythmic calm, balance and beauty, without the need for musical athleticism.
