A wonderful album with fantastic vocals and one of my favorite songs of the '70s, the soaring "Songbird." You can tell how respected John Henry Kurtz was by his peers because on his first and only album, he was backed by some of the top names in music, including Jeff Baxter, Michael Omartian and Kenny Loggins. It's a shame he never recorded again. This album promised a huge recording career ahead of him, but he reportedly went into acting and voiceover work instead. The album is hard to find, but someone posted it on YouTube, and I highly recommend it. At least check out "Songbird." If you like '70s singer/songwriter music like Loggins & Messina, it will become your new favorite song. ~Pat Reeder (allmusic)
