Soma kicks off a new series focusing on upfront techno with SOMA NEU. Set in alignment with Soma's founding ethos of quality electronic music, each part of the series is meticulously curated and aims to direct the uncompromising vision of the label, directly to the dance floor. Featuring a lineup of modern and emerging artists, SOMA NEU pays homage to the roots and raw energy of authentic techno and demonstrates its ongoing evolution. Vol. 1 packs in 11 tracks from new and past label affiliates, spanning dubbed out minimalism to deep atmospheric techno and beyond. The shadowy Confluence makes a welcome appearance on Soma, having dropped multiple tracks via sub label AVOIDANT. His deep and dubby 'Beyond The Horizon' is the perfect opening track. New faces Falling Echoes & PTTRNRCRRNT drop the warping and ominous 'Circuit' & 'Process' respectively, pushing the sound into darker, tougher territory. UK based R.M.K jacks it up with 'The Four Horsemen' before the latest signing to Soma, RNGD, drops the stripped but direct facing 'FW16'. A debut release for homegrown Glasgow talent, System Theory, has him deliver the old school flavoured '27 Miles'. Currently making big waves in the techno scene, Vinicious Honorio brings his rhythmic sound design to SOMA NEU on 'Tainted'. Another draft of newcomers are up next with Italian based THE DEVIANTT delivering a classy, stripped minimal track on 'Distance' with another appearance on Soma from Edinburgh born EJA with the groove laden 'Emergence'. Tougher vibes close out Vol. 1 of SOMA NEU as XHEI moves in with Hood-esq minimalism on 'Downtown' before LPV drops the rough and ready 'Primal' Mastered by Conor Dalton @ Glowcast Mastering.
