The Patricks - Legacy (2024)

The Patricks are an American Gospel music group from Memphis, Tennessee. At its inception in 1995, the group was called The Divine Inspirations and renamed Frankie & Divine soon after. The group recorded their first album titled My Burdens Down in 1996, followed by Feel The Spirit in 1998. Both albums are scheduled to be re-released commercially in 2024 by Chispa Music Group.

After a 25 year hiatus from releasing music, the father and son duo comprised of Frankie Patrick and Carlos Patrick are set to make a triumphant return with their forthcoming project, LEGACY! Joined by the family’s next generation of singers and musicians, including grandsons Christopher Holmes and Caanin Foster- The Patricks legacy continues.

The Patricks first single, “With All I Got”, is now available on all digital platforms. Slated for a 2024 release, the LEGACY album will be rooted in a smooth traditional quartet sound, paying homage to legendary quartet groups like The Williams Brothers and The Pilgrim Jubilees.

“Quartet music is the foundation of our sound. Quartet has impacted mainstream artists across all musical genres from Jazz, to hip-hop, and R&B/ Soul,” shared Carlos Patrick. “Daddy and I were heavily influenced by most of the major quartet groups—but in specific, The Canton Spirituals. Dad, my sister Angie, and I were just feet away in the choir-stand behind The Cantons when they recorded their LIVE IN MEMPHIS album.”

Regarding “LEGACY” Carlos Patrick explains, “God is the producer of this album—it’s not me, my dad, or my nephews. It’s God putting it together, organically bringing people together, and providing the direction. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to record with my dad again. This experience is truly about legacy and familial ties. I’m equally grateful that my nephews Christopher Holmes and Caanin Foster are also apart of the project.”

Paying homage to the legendary Soul artist Rev. Al Green, The Patricks recorded his golden classic “Jesus Will Fix It”. The Legacy album also includes a remake of the iconic Marvin Gaye’s song “Cleo’s Apartment”. The remake is called “Going Through”.

The Patricks LEGACY album was partially recorded in November of 2023 at Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta, GA. The Patchwerk session was engineered by Grammy Nominated engineer Luther Banks. The album was completed in the winner of 2024 at American Recording Studios in Memphis, TN. The Memphis sessions were engineered by guitarist Jason Gillespie. The album was mixed by Grammy Nominated producer Derrick Stevenson at PureTonez Productions in Atlanta, GA.
