After closing out 2023 with the beautiful CONSTELLATIONS EP by JKJK, we thought it only makes sense carry on in 2024 with a reimagined version of it. Regarding the personnel doing the actual reimagining we assembled a stellar cast of producers from different realms of the galaxy we call „club music“, and we couldn’t be more happy with what they all came up with.
First up is a Cologne super collab: Liza Dries and Savsannah join forces for an extremely fun sped-up ecstatic rendition of „Silky Days“ with some classic house bass and cowbell spices included.
After this we’ve got Mr Dial Records aka Lawrence luring „Sense“ into his very own warm and cozy world of deep(!) house that he is known and loved for.
The Sheffield-based talent Isis Moray chooses a similar yet distinct path with „Rupture Of Two Souls“ aggravating the groove of the original’s bassline and building mesmerizing layers of soundscapes over it.
Our man in Budapest Sobek takes „Constellations“ to the big room, and hell yeah, it’s feeling quite comfortable there, creating a certified banger, hands in the air guaranteed.
Longtime ancient future now label friend and collaborator Julian Stetter similarly pulls no punches with his reworking of „Water Strider“, implementing Johanna’s vocals into his trademark wall of sound, making use of all the frequencies music has to offer.
Pawas chooses a slightly more slick and groovy path, with an incredibly cool bassline and floating synth patterns creating an elegant and seductive rendition of „Pipe Dreams“.
For the beautifully tearjerking cinematic finale of the record we saved up Soela’s version of „Silky Days“. She carves out the Trip Hop roots of the composition and goes full-on Massive Attack, leaving us happily weeping and hitting the replay button to start the record again.
