When Austrian bassist Lukas Kranzelbinder heard the music of Danyèl Waro for the first time, he was deeply awed by the voice and presence of the singer and knew immediately, that one day they’d need to play together. 8 years later he finally traveled to La Réunion together with Herbert Pirker and Mario Rom (Interzone) to meet the legendary Maloya musician and his band. They spent a week rehearsing and getting to know each other - even going to a spiritual ceremony together at one point. On their return from the island, they had finalized a musical program, that breathes the unique energy of Waros music and combines it with the fresh and wild approach of Interzone. The world premiere of this cooperation - and thus the recording of this album - took place at Glatt & Verkehrt Festival in Austria in July 2022.
