Dizzy Gillespie Big Band - Groovin' High, Live at Birdland, New York (2011)

A very good album, though the first five tracks were certainly not recorded at Birdland---they sound like tracks from Dizzy's South American tour. Good mono recordings, though the piano can barely be heard. A minor quibble. The rest of the music is first rate and actually recorded at Birdland---it's a transcription of a CBS radio broadcast. The announcer gets the first tune wrong---it is not "Dizzy's Blues," but the rest of the music jumps propelled by the superb Charlie Persip. Good stuff all the way.
