Great Jones - All Bowed Down! (1970)

In the late 60s, a group appeared in Brooklyn, which included: an ardent jazz lover - guitarist Billy Cadieux, a former folk music performer - vocalist and bassist David Tolmie and bluesman - drummer Gary Kollarus. In early 1970, the guys fell into the circle of musicians who were under the wing of the legendary producer Jerry Ragovoy, the founder of Hit Factory Studios in New York. Here they met the composer and keyboardist Jeff Gutcheon, who not only played the piano and organ on their album, but also wrote the title track “All Bowed Down”. The album, recorded in Boston (produced by Joe Zagarino), was well received by critics, and the band was invited to open two shows in Fillmore East in September 1970 with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and The Byrds as headliners. Apparently, it was the peak of the Great Jones music career - the group got the opportunity to speak to one of the most demanding audiences in the USA and was warmly received by the audience. Releasing two singles and one longplay, the group ceased its creative activity.
