Michel Banabila - Tightrope (2023) [Hi-Res]

Tightrope is an extraordinarily beautiful and equally intriguing album by Michel Banabila, a musician from Rotterdam. It starts with a tension somewhere between the work of film composers Carter Burwell and Bernard Herrmann, and then turns into something elegant and magnificent. (Mark Weidenbaum).

Banabila offers 8 pieces here, balancing on a tightrope between ambient, light drones and neoclassical. His electronic compositions are beautifully designed in two tracks by Maarten Vos (cello), Oene van Gel (violin, viola, 5-string violin, trombone), as well as the famous musician Jeff Greinke (synthesizers, electronics), with whom Banabila previously recorded the single "Latitude and Longitude". The music that Banabila has created for his new album is extremely mesmerizing and passes by like an exciting movie. In the second piece, "Dusk To The Sky", lasting more than 7 minutes, Greinke joins her, and the music takes on a darker tone. Banabila is releasing another grandiose and compelling album!
