Né dans une famille de musiciens, LUCIEN DOBAT s’initia très jeune à la pratique de la batterie avec son père. Ses débuts se feront auprès de Kenny Clarke puis il accompagna au cours de nombreuses tournées internationales des artistes majeurs tels que : Clark Terry, T-Bone Walker Art Farmer, Nino Ferrer, Junior Mance, Al Grey, Georges Arvanitas, Claude François, Stone & Charden, Alain Chamfort mais aussi Myriam Makeba et Manu Dibango (pour lequel il créa la rythmique de « Soul Mokassa »). Depuis plus de 15 Ans, il accompagne RHODA SCOTT et joue régulièrement à Saint Germain Des Près au Jazz Club Latitudes. Il nous présente ici enfin son 1er album en qualité de leader.
