Mockingbird Hill is the new studio project led by award winning UK songwriter Andy Littlewood. The debut album 'One Horse Town' features a host of fantastic guest musician's and vocalists, including Dave Hunt, Michael John McElligott, Malaya, Andy Collins, Giovanni Bruno, Kyla Porter, Mick Simpson, Yusuf Bahar, Carlos Navas and Scott Rumsby. Mockingbird Hill's music draws on a wide range of influences from laid back delta blues and easy listening jazz through to driving rock and country blues.
Album tracks include the harmonica driven opener ‘Train a’ Comin’, the classic soul-blues sound of ‘Cry’ (feat. Kyla), the modern electric blues style of ‘Perfect Stranger’, the Louisiana roots influenced, ‘In The Name Of The Blues’, and the smooth jazz vibe of ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ (feat. Malaya). There’s also a hint of ‘Thin Lizzy’ on the up-tempo rocker ‘Son Of A Gun’, and a six-minute epic in the shape of ‘My Friend Is The Bottle’, featuring Scottish bluesman Michael John McElligott on guest vocals and acoustic guitar.
Andy Littlewood has written songs for a diverse range of recording artists such as Starship, Maxi Priest, Kathy Sledge, Sun'dra and Stacey Q, with releases through Universal, Warner, BMG Japan, Edel Records and numerous other labels. He’s also involved in producing incidental music for film and TV; credits include 'The Number One Girl', 'Medium', 'Rock Revolution' and ‘The Horses Of McBride’. The Mockingbird Hill album sees Andy return to his first love of blues, roots and Jazz-pop based music, contributing keyboards, guitars and vocals, as well as writing and producing the material.
