Produced as a collective showcase of top recording artist from the Pacific, the Honolulu based group Lemuria represents the geographical region as well as the progressive nature of the music. The nine original tracks reflect the group’s musical diversity and global appeal. The opening cut “Hunk of Heaven” blends Soul, Latin Fusion, and Gospel Jazz. The instrumental cut “Get that Happy Feeling” captures the improvisational sound of Lemuria. The timeless cut “Moonlight Affair” displays the collective talent of the group and the soulful elements that have made the album a popular choice amongst music buyers worldwide.

Topping the list of veteran musicians is renowned percussionist Henry Gibson (former member of The Curtis Mayfield Band, Donny Hathaway, Ramsey Lewis, etc). “There is a distinct feel to the music in this part of the world. It’s been a real pleasure working with Lemuria.” says Gibson. The music was written and produced by another veteran musician, Kirk Thompson (former member of Kalapana). “Along with the music, I wanted to showcase everyone’s talent and capture the improvisational interplay between exceptional musicians” says Thompson.
